Terms of Service
Last updated: October 1, 2026
These terms govern your use of Writ, Inc.’s services — the scanner/CLI, the MCP server, the gate API, and the portal (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. Questions: hello@withwrit.com.
The service
Writ puts a policy gate in front of your AI agents’ writes. Before an agent fires a write, Writ checks your policy — ALLOW, DENY, or STEP_UP — and records every decision in your tamper-evident audit log.
Your account
API keys are issued by email and identify your tenant. Your keys and sponsor token are shown once — store them somewhere safe. You’re responsible for all activity under your keys, so don’t share them.
Acceptable use
- Don’t use the Service for anything unlawful.
- Don’t abuse, overload, or probe the Service, and don’t try to bypass rate limits.
- Don’t attempt to access other tenants’ data.
Billing
10,000 audit-log receipts per month are free. After that, usage is $1 per 1,000 receipts, billed through Stripe. If you stop paying, your account reverts to the free tier — your audit log stays readable.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service or violate these terms. You can stop using Writ at any time; closing your account stops future billing.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Writ enforces the policy you configure — you’re responsible for what your policy allows.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Writ’s total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms; we’ll change the date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.
